The Jane Snow Scholarship Fund
The Brava Jane! Scholarship was established to honor the lifelong contributions of PMTNM member Jane Snow to the music profession. The major awards are the annual support the of the Senior and Young Artist Winners of the MTNA National Vocal Performance Competitions.
Smaller awards may be made and could include the following:
- Participation in competitions
- Attendance at workshops
- Purchase of tickets for vocal events
- Advanced study
- Participation in summer programs such as Aspen or Tangled
- Career assistance
- Pedagogical internship (“learning to teach”) with a master teacher
- Providing community service vocal programs
The Byrdis W. Danfelser Scholarship is awarded annually to a piano student, grade school through high school, whose primary piano teacher is a member of PMTNM at the time of the application.
Mrs. Danfelser founded the New Mexico Music Teachers Association (now PMTNM) in 1950 and started the Student Affiliate program in 1958. The Danfelser Piano Scholarship Fund was established following her death in 1978.

The Janet Spangenberg Weed Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to a music student (piano, voice, and other instruments), grade school through high school, whose primary teacher in the field for which the application is presented is a member of PMTNM at the time of the application.
Janet Spangenberg Weed was a long time member of PMTNM, a committe chair and ever-gracious hostess for board meetings and tertulias. Because of her devotion to music and this organization, her children established this Memorial Scholarship in her name.

Byron and Velma Gwyn established this foundation in 1980 in honor of their daughter, Joyce Gwyn Walker, and her commitment through the years to the education of piano students and her love and devotion to the student programs of Professional Music Teachers of New Mexico.
The funds are used for higher education for students who have won through the PMTNM competitions. The foundation supports students from elementary through collegiate level.

PMTNM Memorial Outreach Fund
This fund was established by the PMTNM Executive Board on April 30, 1989. The purpose of the Memorial Outreach fund is to encourage musical outreach and awareness activities in local associations/districts.
Individuals or groups working through an established local association or state district of PMTNM are eligible to apply for a grant.
